This season, Shelly and I viewed the shows at Mercedes Benz Tents at Lincoln Center, Gen Art Fresh Faces Show, Helen Yarmaks’ Showroom, The Milk Studios, The Hudson Hotel, The Porche casual chic outwear line at the Empire Hotel and the Lacoste perfume launch at Grand Central Station. I was hosted at the Allure Magazine Lounge, the Daily suite and the GBK style lounge benefiting charities fashion delivers and American Heart Association.

Ladies they say Men love the color red and it is strong for Spring 2012. Red lips, Rednails and romantic red heads with curls. Of course blondes and brunettes are still featured but curls are a definite must. Thick ethnic eyebrows shaped with an arch over cat eyes. Make sure you have a special someone to drive you to/fro events in a Smart Car.

Malan Breton, Simon Spurr and Perry Ellis sported men showing off their legs with short shorts, fitted suits, tapered legs.

Honor, Farah Angsana, Rebecca Taylor, Mara Hoffman, Yesdadt Millinery and Vivienne Tam showcased very feminine dresses of lace, satin with embroidered trims and strapless minis. Helen Yarmak displayed luxurious furs in vibrant colors on live models at her penthouse as guests sipped champagne and smoked Camacho Cigars.

Hats are a must have, all shapes and styles. Hair Accessories a definite. Try flowers, rhinestone barrettes, headbands and bows. Heels either platform, pump, stiletto or wedge with socks or tights no reason to go bare anymore. Have fun and look young in bright neon colors. Make sure to have a pair of flats in your bag for the end of the night. Revito Eyelashes worn long and thick. Eye makeup is bold.

Fashion week was filled to capacity with celebrities, fashionistas and socialites. Skin Medica featured its line of age defying and skin hydrating treatments and the celebrities lined up to sample.

Fashion week is a great time to finally wear the outfit that you have been saving for that special event. Don’t waste it on a first date. Bring it out to the fashion light before something happens to it like your best friend borrowing it and then leaving the country without returning it.
