CAAMFest35 Opening Night and Upcoming Events [PHOTOS]

On Thursday, March 9, 2017, CAAMFest35 (March 9-19, 2017) hosted their Opening Night Gala at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, CA with stars, filmmakers and notable guests in attendance. The festival continues with films and special events until this Sunday, March 19, which includes Special Presentations focusing on Japanese American Community & the Legacy of Internment (GOOD LUCK SOUP on March 18, 9:20pm at New People Cinema, RELOCATION, ARKANSAS–AFTERMATH OF INCARCERATION on Saturday, March 18, 7pm at New People Cinema), Pacific Islanders in Communications: Pacific Showcase (EVER THE LAND on Saturday, March 18 at New People Cinema, VISIONS IN THE DARK: THE LIFE OF PINKY THOMPSON on Sunday, March 19 at New People Cinema), INSIDE THE MIND OF A CREATOR: SHARING HISTORY AND CULTURE THROUGH CHILDREN’S BOOKS on Saturday, March 18, 12pm, BROWN GIRLS on Thursday, March 16 at 6:30pm at Alamo Drafthouse and CAAMFest at OMCA: BLASIAN NARRATIVES on Friday, March 17, 5pm at Oakland Museum of CA. And finally, CAAMFest35 celebrates with a special Closing Night event on Sunday, March 19 with THE CHINESE EXCLUSION ACT, 7pm at the Castro Theatre.

Cindy Maram is a Dancer, Public Speaker and our Founder & Editor-in-Chief of the entertainment, fashion and arts publication, Dig IN Magazine. Further, she is producer of independent feature length and short films, and is committed to supporting the visibility of underrepresented groups in the media and film industry.
