The 74th Annual Golden Globes wrapped on Sunday, January 7, 2017 revealing many winners—a number of which Dig In was very pleased with. First of all, Damien Chazelle’s LA LA LAND won a slew of awards from the musical winning Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Chazelle winning Best Director and Best Screenplay. Further, Ryan Gosling won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical and Emma Stone accepting the Best Actress – Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy award. And the film’s composer, Justin Hurwitz, won for Best Original Score – Motion Picture.
LA LA LAND was the Opening Night film at October’s 39th Mill Valley Film Festival and was honored by the SF Film Society in December with the SF Honors Award.
Casey Affleck was decorated with the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama Award for MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, a film about family turmoil, love and relationships.

And Cannes favorite ELLE, a French picture about a twisted and violent relationship between a man and woman, was honored with two awards—one of which went to highly respected French actress Isabelle Huppert and the other, to its director Paul Verhoeven.
We were also excited about Tracee Ellis Ross’ Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comendy win. Ross was beautifully adorned by L’Dezen jewels on the red carpet.
Further, Aaron Taylor‑Johnson accepted his Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture award for “Nocturnal Animals.”
If any of these wins is telling of future accolades during this years awards season, we here at Dig In will be very delighted! Visit our Dig In Magazine YouTube Channel to watch red carpet video interviews of your favorite Hollywood celebrities!
